Bleach urmãreºte viaþa lui Ichigo Kurosaki, un elev de liceu de 15-ani
cu abilitatea de a vedea fantome ºi un Shinigami (în traducere directã
,,zeu al morþii”) numitã Rukia Kuchiki, cei doi unindu-ºi cãile într-o
zi în timpul urmãririi acesteia a unui Hollow (un spirit malefic). În
timpul confruntãrii propriu-zise cu spiritul, aceasta este rãnitã ºi
obligatã de împrejurãri sã-ºi transfere mai toate puterile lui Ichigo.
Astfel încep aventurile lui Ichigo ºi a Rukiei, împreunã cãutînd acele
spirite malefice ºi practicînd ritualuri de liniºtire a sufletelor ºi
de trimiterea lor în societatea spiritualã denumitã Soul Society. Pãrþile
incipite ale poveºtii se axeazã în principal pe personaje ºi trecutul
lor, ºi nu pe ocupaþia propriu-zisã a Shinigami-lor, Rukia chiar
încercînd sã se integreze în omenirea umanã. Totuºi, pe mãsura
desfãºurãrii evenimentelor ºi povestea începe sã se dezvolte, ajungînd
mai adînc în mulțimea acestor zei ai morþii de pe celãlalt tãrîm denumit
Soul Society.
Povestea începe cu apariţia subită a Rukia Kuchiki în camera lui Ichigo Kurosaki. Ea este surprinsă de abiltatea sa de o vedea, dar conversaţia ce rezultă este întreruptă de apariţia unui hollow, un spirit malefic. După ce Rukia este grav rănită încercând să-l protejeze pe Ichigo, ea intenţionează să-i transfere jumătate din puterile ei lui Ichigo, sperând să îi dea oportunitatea să înfrunte hollows pe picior de egalitate. Ichigo absoarbe neintenţionat aproximativ toată puterea ei, ceea ce îi permite să învingă hollow cu uşurinţă.
Următoarea zi, Rukia apare în clasa lui Ichigo ca un elev transferat. Spre surprinderea lui, ea pare a fi un om normal. Ea teoretizează că puterea spirituală a lui Ichigo a dus la absorbţia aproape totală a puterilor ei, lăsând-o ca urmare naufragiată în lumea reală. Rukia şi-a transferat spiritul într-un gigai (un corp uman artificial) până îndată ce îşi va recăpăta abilităţile. Între timp, Ichigo trebuie să-i preia îndatoririle de shinigami, luptând cu hollows şi ghidând suflete rătăcite înapoi în Soul Society.
Ichigo Kurosaki (黒崎 一護, Kurosaki Ichigo)
Protagonistul din Bleach, Ichigo, un elev de liceu cu părul portocaliu devine un shinigami temporar după ce absoarbe forţat de împrejurări puterile lui Rukia Kuchiki. Natura lui cinică îl face ca la început să îi displacă noua datorie, dar cu trecerea timpului acesta o acceptă, iar cînd puterile sale temporare dispar, îşi riscă viaţa pentru a deveni un shinigami deplin. Acesta îşi doreşte puteri cît mai mari pentru a fi în stare să protejeze pe toţi cei dragi lui şi pentru a o salva pe Rukia de la moarte
Rukia Kuchiki (朽木 ルキア, Kuchiki Rukia)
Rukia Kuchiki este un shimigami trimisă în lumea oamenilor ca patrulă de exterminare a spiritelor malefica în oraşul natal a lui Ichigo. Deşi fizic arată ca o adolescentă, ea are defapt peste 150 de ani. Rukia este forţată în timpul unei lupte să-şi transfere puterile lui Ichigo şi să trăiască o perioadă ca un om obişnuit. Se înscrie la liceul din oraş şi se mută în dulapul lui Ichigo, în timp ce îl învaţă cum să fie un shinigami-înlocuitor în locul ei
Orihime Inoue (井上 織姫, Inoue Orihime?)
Orihime Inoue este o colegă veche de clasă a lui Ichigo, îndeaproape legată de el de o prietenă comună (Tatsuki Arisawa). Ea este practic orfană, de vreme ce ea şi fratele ei mai mare, Sora, au fugit din casa în care erau abuzaţi de la o vârstă fragedă, iar mai târziu şi acesta a murit. Deşi iniţial lipsită de puteri spirituale, începe să şi le dezvolte pe momentul petrecut pe lângă Ichigo în noua sa formă, ulterior posedând una din cele mai dominante abilităţi de vindecare, fiind capabilă de a readuce corpul la starea precedentă de sănătate, oricât de grave ar fi rănile. Are nişte zâne care îi îndeplinesc dorinţele.
Yasutora "Chad" Sado (茶渡 泰虎, Sado Yasutora?)
Yasutora Sado, recunoscut mai bine drept Chad, este unul dintre cei mai buni prieteni ai lui Ichigo. Deşi este cunoscut pentru statura sa impozantă este extrem blând, refuzând a se lupte decât pentru binele altora. Nu poate percepe fantomele la început, dar acest lucru se schimbă când observă un grup de copii find atacaţi de un hollow. Descoperă că posedă o putere singulară ce îi acoperă unul dintre braţe, crescându-i puterea şi permiţându-i să distrugă hollows. Mai tîrziu manifestă şi puterea de a trage cu potență din braţul acoperit cu armură.
Deşi la prima vedere nu pare decât un coleg de clasă silitor, dar solitar, Uryū Ishida este defapt un Quincy, descendent al unei clan de arcaşi cu abilităţi de a vâna hollows. Poartă o ură pentru toţi shinigami, inclusiv Ichigo, dar după un timp ajunge să-l vadă pe Ichigo diferit, în cele din urmă ajungând să-l considere aliat şi prieten.

The Urahara Shop (浦原商店, Urahara Shōten?) is a convenience store that
predominately deals in snacks and small household goods. It also caters
to a more select crowd of spiritually-aware beings, providing them with
merchandise it has acquired from Soul Society. Three of its regulars
(owner Kisuke Urahara, Yoruichi Shihōin, and Tessai Tsukabishi) are
former high-ranking Soul Reapers that are now fugitives of Soul Society.
Kisuke Urahara
Kisuke
Urahara (浦原 喜助, Urahara Kisuke?) is the owner of the Urahara Shop. He
has a number of peculiar business practices, such as leaving the store
unattended so that he can train other spiritually aware beings in his
cave-like basement.
Yoruichi Shihōin
Yoruichi
Shihōin (四楓院 夜一, Shihōin Yoruichi?) does not work at the Urahara Shop
in any official capacity, instead using it as a place of residence when
she is not abroad.
Tessai Tsukabishi

Tessai
Tsukabishi (握菱 テッサイ, Tsukabishi Tessai?) is Urahara's personal
assistant in both business and other matters. He is a large, muscular
man with a thick mustache who always wears an apron. He is shown to
have great physical strength, made apparent by his ability to smash a
hollow's head to pieces with a single, open-palmed thrust. During the
Turn Back the Pendulum miniseries, it is revealed that he was the
captain of the Kidō Corps in Soul Society. As a result, Tessai is
extremely skilled in kidō, demonstrated by his ability to use a level
99 binding spell while skipping its incantation. He has not been shown
to carry a zanpakutō, but he did carry a shakujo during his time in
Soul Society. For aiding Kisuke Urahara in his attempts to help the
visoreds, Tessai was sentenced to imprisonment by the Central 46 and
was forced to flee to the human world.
Jinta Hanakari

Jinta
Hanakari (花刈 ジン太, Hanakari Jinta?) is a small, red-haired boy who is
supposed to do manual labor for the shop, such as cleaning. Instead he
usually slacks off and forces Ururu to do all the work. Though he
frequently bullies her, he does care for Ururu as he recovers her body
after she is injured by an arrancar. Though he is more knowledgeable
than one might expect given his young appearance, he is still childish,
calling Renji Abarai a "moocher" (居候, isōrō?),and he enjoyed
teasing,spitting and drooling on Ichigo when his Chain of Fate was
severed and Ichigo was becoming a hollow in a incapacitated state.
Jinta seems to have a crush on Yuzu Kurosaki, calling her "The Goddess"
and regarding anything she gives to him as sacred. His primary weapon
is an oversized iron rod, similar to a Tetsubo, which he can use to
beat others to a bloody pulp.
Ururu Tsumugiya
* Voiced by: Noriko Shitaya (Japanese), Wendee Lee (English)
Ururu
Tsumugiya (紬屋 雨, Tsumugiya Ururu?) is a meek, black-haired girl who
mostly does manual labor for the shop. She uses a multi-barreled
shoulder cannon as her weapon, which can turn into a rocket launcher to
deal with powerful opponents. Ururu's meek attitude is somewhat at odds
with her fighting ability, which is undefined, but quite high (Urahara
vaguely mentions that her fighting ability is at an "anti-Soul Reaper"
level). Her punches and kicks have a lethal amount of force and far
surpass what is capable of most characters. She seems to respond
robotically when injured or when hollows are nearby. During such times,
Ururu seems to take on a rather simplistic view of right and wrong; she
considers those that cause harm (relative to her) as enemies, and
believes that enemies must be eliminated.
Quincy (クインシー, Kuinshī?) are a clan of humans who, over many centuries,
became spiritually aware. In doing so they devised their own brand of
spiritual powers; they can absorb spiritual energy and then manipulate
for offensive purposes. They most commonly reshape spiritual particles
into various types of bow and arrows, but can also concentrate
spiritual energy into the form of swords or explosives. At their
height, Quincies used their powers to combat the hollows, protecting
the inhabitants of the human world with a success rate greater than
that of the Soul Reapers. Unlike the Soul Reapers, who purify the souls
of hollows, Quincy destroyed the hollow, soul and all. This created an
imbalance between the worlds of the living and the dead, threatening to
destroy the universe. To prevent this, the Soul Reapers almost
exterminated the Quincy, leaving only two Quincy to survive into the
current Bleach storyline and creating a great animosity between the two
groups.
Uryū Ishida
Uryū Ishida (石田 雨竜,
Ishida Uryū?) is the most recurring Quincy character in Bleach. Despite
the Quincy's strained history with Soul Reapers, Uryū has a working
relationship with deputy Soul Reaper and series protagonist Ichigo
Kurosaki. He and his father are the last remaining Quincy.
Ryūken Ishida
* Voiced by: Ken Narita (Japanese), Michael McConnohie (English)
Ryūken
Ishida (石田 竜弦, Ishida Ryūken?) is the father of Uryū Ishida. He is
initially portrayed as a bitter and cold Quincy who detests his own
people, believing his father, Sōken, and Uryū to be wasting their time
training their Quincy abilities. Ryuken dedicates most of his time to
the Karakura Hospital. Ryūken is a very skilled Quincy, capable of
defeating two incomplete arrancar with only three arrows fired from his
one-handed bow. His outfit is usually covered in blue crosses and
Ryuken has inherited his father's Quincy Cross (滅却十字, mekkyaku jūji?).
To this end, he calls himself "the last Quincy", believing Uryū to be
too talentless to deserve the title. Though he disapproves the Quincy
lifestyle, since it's impossible to make a living if one kills hollows
all day, Ryūken restores Uryū's lost Quincy powers, under the condition
that his son is to never associate with Soul Reapers, although this
command is immediately disobeyed on the rationale that Ichigo is only a
substitute Soul Reaper and that he is acting independently of Soul
Society's orders.
Sōken Ishida
* Voiced by: Eiji Maruyama (Japanese), David Lodge (English)
Sōken
Ishida (石田 宗弦, Ishida Sōken?) is the father of Ryūken and the
grandfather of Uryū. He trained Uryū in Quincy abilities throughout his
childhood, becoming his mentor in the process. Sōken tried to make
amends with Soul Reapers by advocating a new system of response to
hollow attacks: Quincy would be the first-response squad, protecting
humans from hollows until Soul Reapers arrived to help. His proposal
was never accepted, and he was eventually killed in a hollow attack.
Mayuri Kurotsuchi reveals to Uryū that this was his doing; he delayed
the Soul Reapers meant to protect Sōken so that he could study Sōken's
soul for his research. According to a reflection of a photograph seen
in Uryu's glasses, all that was left of him in the end was his head.

This is a list of characters in the anime and manga series Bleach who
are hollows (虚（ホロウ）, horō?). Hollows are the central antagonists of the
series. Series creator Tite Kubo uses many Spanish motifs in regards to
hollows and their variants.
Hollows are departed human souls
that have not been sent to Soul Society in due time, leading to their
corruption. Once corrupted, they gain a skull-like mask, a drastically
different physical appearance, and a very animalistic level of
intelligence. Hollows begin to crave other human souls, living or dead,
and scour the human world in their search for sustenance. They will
continue this search until they are killed by a Soul Reaper, at which
point their souls are purified and they are allowed to pass on to Soul
Society.
In rare cases, a hollow will lose its taste for human
souls and instead starts eating other hollows. In doing so, the hollow
gains all the power of the consumed, allowing them to evolve into
stronger and more intelligent forms known as menos (メノス, menosu?,
Spanish for "minus" or "less"). Within the menos, there are three
levels of power. Gillian (最下大虚（ギリアン）, girian?, Japanese for "least of
the great hollows") are the weakest type, and usually have no
individuality. Should a gillian retain its consciousness, it can evolve
into an intelligent and variable hollow called an adjuchas
(中級大虚（アジューカス）, ajūkasu?, Japanese for "intermediate great hollow").
From there, it can become a vasto lorde (最上大虚（ヴァストローデ）, vasuto rōde?,
Japanese for "highest of the great hollows"), a hollow so powerful that
just ten would be capable of overwhelming Soul Society. As hollows
evolve they gain access to unique skills and abilities, fueled by the
souls they have consumed. The most basic of these abilities is Cero
(虚閃（セロ）, Sero?, Japanese for "hollow flash," Spanish for "zero",
labeled as "Doom Blast" in the Viz manga), a high-powered energy blasts
that can be fired from various body parts, such as the mouth or hand.
Enhanced speed and a resistance to damage are also common of evolved
hollows.
Hollows
Almost all antagonists
in Bleach are, by definition, categorized as hollows. The following are
those hollows that have not attained the further classification of
arrancar. Many of the hollows shown in the series have few, if any,
speaking lines and are killed shortly after their introduction.
Bawabawa
Bawabawa
(バワバワ, Bawabawa?) is a giant, eel-like hollow whose mask consists of a
simple plate on his head with a pair of horns. He acts as both pet and
transportation for Nel Tu and her companions. Bawabawa tends to get
upset for not being included in the group's extra sentai-styled
introduction sequences. It is initially explained that Bawabawa can't
survive without sand, which is why he can't accompany Nel into Las
Noches. Dondochakka later reveals that Bawabawa is stored inside his
stomach along with other combat-based insects. Despite his fearsome
appearance, Bawabawa is actually rather emotional and not evil.
Arrancar
Arrancar
(アランカル, arankaru?, Spanish for "to rip off") are hollows that have had
their masks removed and have gained the powers of a Soul Reaper. They
gain much more humanoid appearances in the process, as well as strength
and intelligence beyond the level of a simple hollow. Arrancar become
major antagonists during the second half of the series as they start
being led by Sōsuke Aizen. According to Tite Kubo, many of the arrancar
are named after real life architects and designers
Like Soul
Reapers, arrancar possess zanpakutō (斬魄刀, zanpakutō? lit. soul-cutting
sword). Unlike Soul Reapers, whose zanpakutō are manifestations of
their owner's soul, arrancar's zanpakutō are manifestations of their
former hollow selves. With occasional exceptions, an arrancar's
zanpakutō resembles a regular sword in its unsealed state. When
released through a process called resurrección (帰刃（レスレクシオン）,
resurekushion?, Japanese for "returning blade," Spanish for
"resurrection"), part of their original hollow form is restored,
changing their appearance, giving them greater strength, and granting
them access to their original abilities.
Espada
The
Espada (十刃（エスパーダ）, Esupāda?, Japanese for "ten blades," Spanish for
"sword") are the ten strongest arrancar in Sōsuke Aizen's army. They
are ranked in order of their strength. The members are listed according
to their known rank. The first three hold the top three ranks although
their specific ranks haven't been revealed.
Stark
* Voiced by: Rikiya Koyama
Stark
(スターク, Sutāku?) appears to be very lazy; he is seen sleeping when the
Espada learn of Aaroniero Arruruerie's death, and does not appear
overly concerned by the news. Lilinette (リリネット, Ririnetto?), his young
female Fracción, typically shows the concern that Stark does not. When
he is shown to be serious, however, his personality changes completely;
he comes off as reluctant but nonetheless willing to do what needs to
be done to complete the task at hand. The remains of Stark's hollow
mask consist of a bottom jaw that is positioned like a necklace. His
hollow hole is on his sternum, right below the tip of his mask. While
his combat abilities have not been shown, he is at the least very fast,
as he manages to kidnap Orihime Inoue while Kenpachi Zaraki and Ichigo
Kurosaki are only a few feet away.
Halibel
* Voiced by: Megumi Ogata
Halibel
(ハリベル, Hariberu?) is the only current female Espada. She is very calm
and rarely speaks, and when she does it's fairly serious, such as when
she tells her three female Fracción Apache (アパッチ, Apacchi?), Mila Rose
(ミラ・ローズ, Mira Rōzu?), and Sun-Sun (スンスン, Sunsun?) that being afraid of
an Espada's released form is a normal reaction. The remnants of
Halibel's hollow mask are partially covered by her collar, but it is
clear that she at least has pieces of mask on both sides of her cheeks.
She carries her zanpakutō on her back; the sword itself is notably
broad and short compared to those of other Espada.
Barragan
* Voiced by: Shōzō Iizuka
Barragan
(バラガン, Baragan?) is a stout, older, and grumpy arrancar. The remnant of
his mask takes the form of a five-pointed crown. He bears large visible
scars on the left side of his chin and across his right eye, and wears
a large rope-like sash with a sun-crested buckler attached to it in
addition to the regular obi sash. He appears to hold himself in a
higher regard to that of the other Espada, or at the very least thinks
somewhat highly of himself, as he begins giving orders from a
skull-adorned throne once Aizen is trapped and tells Halibel "not to
underestimate him." He has five Fracción: Charlotte Cuuhlhourne,
Abirama Redder, Findol Carias, Pō, and one who has yet to be named.
Neliel Tu Oderschvank
* Voiced by: Tomoko Kaneda

Tu Oderschvank (ネリエル・トゥ・オーデルシュヴァンク, Nerieru Tu Ōderushuvanku?),
commonly known as Nel Tu (ネル・トゥ, Neru Tu?),[5] is a good-natured,
child-like arrancar when first introduced. The remains of her hollow
mask make up a cartoonish skull on the top of her head. Nel and her
companions believe Soul Reapers, not hollows, to be evil, and as such
are afraid of them. In spite of this, she develops an attachment to
Ichigo Kurosaki and starts following him around after her introduction.
She is a self-proclaimed masochist. Nel's true form is that of a
fully-grown woman, her mask appearing less cartoonish with a pair of
curved horns. A large "3" tattooed on her back indicates that she was
previously the third Espada. Nnoitra Jiruga snuck up on and attacked
Nel in the past, causing her to turn into her child-form, giving her
amnesia, and allowing him to expel her from the Espada. When Nel runs
into Nnoitra years later and he begins to torture Ichigo, she turns
into her adult form with her memories restored. She retains her
affection for Ichigo, as she hugs him without realizing that her
strength is causing him personal injury. As she is about to defeat
Nnoitra, Nel reverts back to her child form, with no apparent memory of
what had just occurred.
In her child-state, Nel's vomit (which
she believes to be saliva) acts as a powerful healing agent. In both
her child and adult form, she can swallow cero attacks and fire them
back. In her adult form, she can also add her own cero to this blast,
doubling its power. Nel's zanpakutō, which manifests when she
transforms, is named Gamuza (羚騎士（ガミューサ）, Gamyūsa?, Spanish for
"chamois," Japanese for "antelope knight"). Its release command is
"declare" (謳え, utae?). Her released form is that of a ibex-like centaur
with longer curved horns, a thick tail, and armor over her shoulders
and hands. Her sword transforms into a double-ended lance, giving her
the appearance of a medieval knight or a jouster. One of her attacks is
called Lanzador Verde (Spanish for "green lancer"), in which she throws
her lance directly at her opponent. The lance moves at high speed and
rotates extremely fast, drilling through anything it hits.
Ulquiorra Schiffer
* Voiced by: Daisuke Namikawa
Ulquiorra
Schiffer (ウルキオラ・シファー, Urukiora Shifā?) is the fourth Espada, signified
by the "4" tattooed to his chest. His name stems from that of a
furniture designer named Patricia Urquiola. He has a largely stoic
appearance, rarely even changing his facial expression, and does not
allow the actions of others to impede the tasks set to him by Sōsuke
Aizen. He will attack his comrades to get them to pay attention to him,
and deems anyone he does not find of special interest to be "trash"
and therefore expendable. The remainder of Ulquiorra's hollow mask lies
on top of his head, forming a broken helmet. His hollow hole has moved
since his first appearance; when first introduced it is at the base of
his neck, but in later appearances it has been moved onto his chest.
Though
Ulquiorra has yet to fight with his full power, he has displayed a
number of unique tendencies. He usually keeps his hands in his pockets
when in a combat situation, only bringing them out to deflect attacks.
Grimmjow Jeagerjaques notes that he tends to stab opponents in the
chest, the same location as his hollow hole, whenever he is
particularly interested in a battle, though it is unclear if Ulquiorra
is conscious of this habit. He is very analytical; he almost accurately
theorizes the means behind Orihime Inoue's abilities, and recognizes
that Ichigo Kurosaki's power constantly fluctuates between weaker and
stronger than his own. He also seems to refrain from killing a person
unless necessary, twice sparing Ichigo and proclaiming he would not
harm Orihime because he had not been ordered to. He can replay events
he has seen to others by removing and crushing his left eye, which then
turns into dust and flows around those Ulquiorra is relaying
information to. Ulquiorra fights under the philosophy that his eye
observes everything. What it cannot see, does not exist. The name and
released state of Ulquiorra's zanpakutō have not been revealed. Aizen
leaves Ulquiorra command over Las Noches when he invades the false
Karakura Town.

Aceasta este o listă de Soul Reaper (死神, Shinigami?, Literalmente "moartea lui Dumnezeu") de caractere prezentate în seria anime şi manga Bleach, făcut de Tite Kubo. Soul Reapers sunt o rasă de spirite fictiv care reglementează șuvoiul de suflete între lumea umană şi de apoi.
Reapers sufletul omului defunct sunt sufletele care au dobândit puteri supranaturale. Organismele lor sunt compuse din ectoplasm care imită anatomia umană normală. Soul Reapers poate fi vazut doar de înspre alte entităţi spiritual conştient, care exclude de cele mai numeroase om, dar altfel sunt entităţi solide, capabile de a influenţa lor de mediu. În plus, astea pot fi vătămate şi a murit ca om, regulate, cu toate ca are considerabil mai mare pentru leziunile acesta din urmă să apară decât ar putea regulate în om.
Toate Soul Reapers posedă un zanpakutō (斩魄刀, zanpakutō? Literalmente "suflet-tăiere sabie"), o manifestare fizică a lor suflet care ia forma unui regulate de sabie. Prin învăţare numele de sabia lui spiritul de învăţare şi de a lucra cu el în luptă, Rap Reapers poate debloca mai intense forme de zanpakutō lor. întâia forma, știut ca shikai (始解, shikai? "Versiune initiala"), modificări de sabiile apariţia facilita o mai bună pentru a-l abilităţi speciale. Cea de-a doua formă, cunoscut ca bankai (卍解, bankai?
